This Raptors season has been a wild roller coaster! Covering the team has been a challenge not only in emotions but in personal growth as a writer. I’ve worked hard to gather team information and distill that for readers here. I’m very grateful to everyone who has spent there time to read about the Raptors here. I can’t tell you how some very simple kind comments or emails have brightened up my day and kept me grinding away. This really is a labor of love and I’ve enjoyed it and grown tremendously from it. Thank you all for supporting!
As the Raptors go through their end of season review I have also been doing the same here for Raptors Truth! I believe it’s important in life to set goals, make plans and review performance. This season for me has been unlike any other Raptors season because of how deep I’ve gone into coverage of the team…and I don’t plan to stop! However it turns out that the platform I began using for this work wasn’t the best option. Well to be honest, a different platform is emerging as a much more supportive platform for content creators. Substack is a good platform that helps format and arrange written work in a nice way. However it generates extremely little traffic to my type of content. And in the world of content creation traffic is not only King…it’s Queen, Jack and Ace…and in a trump suit!
Twitter has been around for a long time and wasn’t really a ‘content’ type of platform, mainly being used to ‘chat’ on subjects with people around the world. However recently Twitter is very clearly moving towards greatly supporting content creators. I could go into all the details but to be honest it would bore you to death very likely. It has become extremely clear to me that Twitter, while not a great format for writers yet, offers tremendous potential to help readers find my content. This is so important that I’m willing to work extra hard to design a writing ‘format’ that fits into Twitter’s new structure while keeping my work easy to read for people.
So that’s it for Raptor’s Slander on Substack! Thanks to everyone for signing up. I hope you will all consider following me over at Twitter, the new home of Raptors Slander. There is going to be even more hard hitting coverage of the team there! I will be focusing much, much more on reader engagement. I’ve found that I really enjoy ‘chatting’ with readers and Twitter will encourage that aspect of this work much, much better. I find that 100 minds are better than 1 so the more thoughts and opinions I read the better my thinking on any subject becomes. Thus your thoughts and comments are very important for me to improve my work. Just like Raptors players I’m looking to improve my game, make more shots and add some moves to my bag of tricks!
I really hope you’ll come join me! I’m confident we’ll generate even better information about the team working together more.
